HBG Mural Fest 2017
Harrisburg’s First Mural Festival
September 1-10, 2017
Sprocket Mural Works’ Inaugural Harrisburg Mural Festival was two weeks of focused city beautification through the creation of 18 murals in the fall of 2017. In addition to the painting of murals the festival started with a kickoff event, featured artists talks and meet and greets, and ended with one kickass party.
One mural is good. 10 murals are great.
We have seen the impact that one mural can make on a community and we knew that more murals will have a greater impact.
Previously, Sprocket had coordinated projects on an individual basis. A mural festival allowed Sprocket to maximize our efforts and achieve more with less. We can maximize our donation and sponsorship dollars by purchasing supplies and renting equipment in bulk. We can achieve a level of exposure with a mural festival that we could never reach with a single mural – leading to greater visibility for Sprocket, our artists and our sponsors. And with the mix of artists, participants and volunteers that we engage in the mural festival, we will continue to encourage the creative spirit of our community on a grand scale.
Help from our community is crucial in making Harrisburg Mural Festival a success.
Thank you to our 2017 Sponsors!
We are so proud to have connected with partners who believe in the transformative power of public art and who took the leap to support our work during 2017. We are looking forward to even more meaningful collaborations, aligning with people who want to see Harrisburg shine. Below are murals completed during the 2017 HBG Mural Fest, Harrisburg, PA. With out our sponsors, partners and volunteers, this massive project would have not been possible.
