Sprocket’s new project: Murals for the Mural Arts Hotel in York

This fall, Sprocket Mural Works is doing something a little different—we’re taking the art inside!
We’ve assembled a team of 7 artists to create 8 murals inside of Royal Square Development’s forthcoming Mural Arts Hotel in York, Pa., slated to open in spring of 2027.
Between Nov. 12 and 21, Sprocket will be painting immersive murals in four king suites and across four communal hallways within the 20-room hotel.
“We’ve spent years working with artists and community partners to help make York a destination for public art,” said Meg Caruso, Sprocket’s executive director. “This hotel builds on that work, giving visitors the chance to stay surrounded by art and experience each artist’s vision in a more personal way.”
The mural hotel neighbors Mural Park, where Sprocket completed more than 30 outdoor murals over recent years.
“We hope the art draws people here and inspires them to explore more of the great murals, galleries and small businesses in York,” said Caruso.
Designed by MIKO Interior Design, the hotel is designed around the idea of immersing visiting tourists in art.
