Sprocket Mural Works Ushers in a New Era with Grand Opening of Midtown Studio
Harrisburg, PA – Sprocket Mural Works celebrated its 10-year anniversary this November by throwing a housewarming party at its brand new studio space in Midtown Harrisburg.
The party was a resounding success, bringing together artists, community members, and local officials to celebrate Sprocket’s decade of achievements and look forward to the future.
More than 100 attendees gathered to mix and mingle, and add color to two paint-by-numbers-style murals, sketched out on parachute cloths at the 4,000-square-foot studio.
These murals are the first in a new generation of community art projects that Sprocket will be painting in the space year-round.
The pieces by artist Blake Showers and Reina Wooden will be installed in 2025, in York and Harrisburg, respectively.
Sprocket co-founder and executive director Meg Caruso announced at the event that Sprocket is scheduled to complete its 100th mural next year and plans to focus its 2025 efforts on painting walls in Harrisburg’s Allison Hill neighborhood.
The event would not have been possible without the support of Sprocket’s sponsors. Thank you to Royal Square Development & Construction, Enders Insurance, and GreenWorks Development, as well as to all the community members who donated toward furnishing our new home.
